I suddenly decided to be a vegetarian last Nov. 12.  Well, to be honest, I couldn't turn into a 100% vegetarian because I love meat too much.  But, not so much that I can't not give up pork and beef entirely.  Since Nov. 12, my only sources of protein have been chicken, fish, eggs, soy products, and legumes, all of which I haven't been eating a lot of the past 2 weeks as well.

I've been working on a children's story for the past 2 years.  It uses a lot of these superstitions that abound in our local folklore (sourced most of them from FB friends).  But, I need more.

Yesterday, I offered my sons' nanny, Rochelle, one of my extra USB thumb drives, knowing that she has a Friendster account and that she might want to back up her photos and whatever she had there.  Imagine my surprise when she replied: "Ha?  Magsasara na pala ang Friendster?"

My husband's persistent pestering to make me try the Cocoa with Rock Salt &amp; Cheese drink at Happy Lemon has finally paid off.  At the first sip of his favorite drink there, I knew I had found a new potential night cravings material.  It's gorgeous!  Hot chocolate, salt, and cream cheese?!  Wow.

This year would be, if I counted correctly, the fourth year that God has been dropping on us a big bag of surprise when school enrollment season comes around.  We're always not sure when the package will arrive, but we know it will come at the perfect time.  And when I say "drop", I mean exactly that -- something came down from above.  We don't know where or how.

June 7, 2009: after what I can only call as a "freak" biking accident, and after getting an x-ray done and 3 hours of waiting in the ER, one of the ER doctors finally checked on me and told me, as gently as she could but without mincing words, that "It's really bad.  It's a bag of bones."

Actors are relatively unknown, and they can act, which makes the story all the more intriguing right to the very end.
