Kids left for dead in dumpsite (have you heard about this?)

Sometime last week, my co-manager here in the office has been relaying to us very disturbing text messages that she and her churchmates in Laguna have been passing to each other. It started with a report about a young child's body found in some dumpsite in Binan, Laguna. The internal organs were taken out and there was P5000 in the child's hand.

I don't know what to make of it. It really rattled my co-manager so much that she checked if forums and other blog sites have discussed this, and it happens that, yes, many other people have heard about it, too. But why isn't it on the news? Isn't this more horrifying that the ZTE NBN deal??

This afternoon, she read to us a new text message from her churchmate, who said that her officemate went to the dumpsite in person, to confirm if the news was true. Sad to say that it is, she saw the body herself.

Way back in college days, I heard of stories like this, usually children from squatter families are victimized -- suddenly kidnapped or lured or drugged, then some part of their body is taken out. The body is usually left somewhere, with thousands of pesos tucked in the pocket or placed right in the area where the body part used to be.

Have you heard about this? Please, can someone please bring this to the media's attention? Does the government even know about this, or are they much too busy kissing arses?
