How to Defy the RH Bill

This is by far the most stupid thing ever said against the RH Bill:

Apart from holding unproductive rallies, purposefully disobeying the law, refusing to listen to reason, let's think about the different ways we could participate in "civil obedience".  Better yet, let's show our defiance towards the RH Bill by:
  • Having unprotected sex.
  • Turning a blind eye to teen pregnancy, promiscuity, extramarital affairs.
  • Letting a poor woman in labor die from birthing complications.
  • Denying healthcare for indigent pregnant women.
  • Not giving appropriate and complete counseling on family planning to a poor couple who already has 5 children they could barely sustain.
  • Never talking with young kids and teenagers carefully and respectfully about sex, pregnancy, responsibility, but instead letting them learn about sex from pornographic sources.
  • Not supporting HIV awareness campaigns.
  • Risk giving birth in unsanitary conditions.
  • Not stopping abortions.
  • Not involving men/fathers in family planning and responsible parenthood counseling.
  • Giving women just any contraceptive without providing adequate guidance and moral support.
  • Letting the murder of full-term but unwanted babies continue.
Is that enough?  Let's get more creative, shall we?  Tell me in what other ways you can willingly not comply with the guidelines in the RH Bill, which have all been thoughtfully researched, organized, and drafted for your benefit.

Another version of the Purple Ribbon Logo by Team Manila on TwitpicThe handful of anti-RH people I've met who listened to reason turned out to be not completely against the RH Bill because, they believe in informed choice and they see the need for such a law.  Whatever "anti" sentiments they have is related to the worries and concerns they have when it comes to the implementation.  We all know this problem: we have many laws, we don't know all of them, but they do exist.  We're very bad at keeping the momentum going.  Plus, the reality in government and politics -- anywhere in the world -- is that corruption can or may occur somewhere, sometime.  I have the same concerns, but that should not stop us anyway.  If we let fears about the "what could be" take us over, then we allow ourselves be defeated immediately without even trying to succeed.  We might as well stop fighting about everything else now, not just for the RH Bill.

Please do yourself a favor -- stop and think for a moment.  Learn about what the real problems are, realize that these have been going on for decades.  I ask you: is it really OK with you to let things remain the way they are?  Don't you think that if we work together, we could actually help save lives?
